Our team successfully constructed two new semi-detached, three-bedroom homes using sustainable straw bale wall construction. This project prioritised eco-conscious building methods while maintaining durability and aesthetic appeal.
The homes were built on environmentally friendly lime and stone-based foundations, incorporating glass foam insulation beneath the floor and a lime-crete floor slab for enhanced thermal efficiency. The load-bearing straw bale walls were externally rendered with lime for durability and weather resistance, while the interiors were finished with natural clay plaster to create a breathable and healthy living environment.
A new natural slate roof was installed, complementing the sustainable ethos of the build. Throughout the project, a carefully selected range of eco-friendly materials was used to minimise environmental impact while ensuring a high-quality finish.
This innovative construction approach resulted in homes with an exceptionally low environmental footprint, showcasing our commitment to sustainable building practices.
